Mother Russia Vol.8 : The Market

I’ve always loved markets, and the one I’ve been to the most is the Carmel Market.

On my first day in Moscow, I’ve been to a small temporary market, and I had learnt that there are about 15 large markets in Moscow itself. I was quite curious to see how the local markets look like (the only markets I’ve visited in Russia were in Tomsk – one was an outdoor market and the other one was an indoor one).

This one was a mixture of both – the meat and dairy products were sold indoors, and everything else was being sold in stalls outdoors. It was far less crowded than the Carmel Market – maybe due to the fact that it was – you guessed right – freezing outside!

Between taking shots and freezing I was mostly fascinated with the variety – who knew that so much could grow in such cold climate! Also, along with the typical veggies and fruit that are common everywhere, they had all sorts of berries and mushrooms! Yummy.
