I love the sea. I also love marine life, and I would absolutely love to take photos of it. But, the nearest reef is in Eilat (the southest city in Israel), which is 4 hours away from me. Also, I do not own any underwater photography equipment, plus I’ve already heard some horror stories of underwater cases that didn’t quite do their job.

But, I had a rare chance to take some shots of fish, at a small aquarium. My CPL filter (which I got from my friends and colleagues from the IDF back when I finished my service) came in handy – shotting though glass can be difficult due to reflections. Flash is harmful to fish, so I had to use rather high ISO and slow shutter speed. The CPL filter also made the image darker.

High quality images will be avaliable soon on my flickr account. I’ve set myself another goal – go to an oceanarium to take photos. 🙂
Small aquarium, did you mean the one in Eilat?

Nope, this was taken in Moscow, in a tiny aquarium inside a store 🙂
